Young Woman Killed by Tractor in La Aparecida Crossing

A 27-year-old woman died Wednesday morning after being struck by a tractor in La Aparecida, Cartagena, while crossing a pedestrian crossing with her dog on San Javier Avenue.
The incident took place around 8:23 AM when witnesses alerted emergency services about the severity of the crash. The victim was found unconscious and severely injured on the road; although local police and medical staff arrived promptly, they were only able to confirm her death.
The dog fled the scene, leaving fur and skin on the road; its condition and whereabouts remain unknown.
Local police conducted alcohol and drug tests on the 51-year-old tractor driver, all of which came back negative. The vehicle’s documentation and condition were also inspected and found to be in order.
Eyewitnesses reported that the woman was hit and dragged several metres by the tractor. Emergency services also provided care to the victim’s mother and a witness to the event.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash to clarify the causes of the accident.
