The 14th National Pharmaceutical Care Congress will take place in Cartagena from 23 to 25 October 2025 at the El Batel Auditorium and Congress Palace, organised by the Fundación Pharmaceutical Care España together with the Official College of Pharmacists of the Region of Murcia (COFRM).
Since its first edition in 1999, held in San Sebastián with international figures such as Charles D. Hepler and Linda B. Strand, the congress has become a key forum to promote pharmaceutical care and the clinical role of pharmacists within the health system.
Each edition addresses strategic issues—patient safety, multidisciplinary integration, service quality and continuous professional development—and features scientific communications, practical workshops and round tables. On-site attendance has typically approached around 500 participants, with a historical peak of over 1,200 in 1999; the previous edition gathered more than 300 professionals.
Under the motto “Professional development of pharmaceutical care. Share your experience”, the Cartagena programme emphasises clinical practice with innovative workshops, debates on collaborative practice, patient education, service remuneration and postgraduate training, plus presentations of final degree and master’s projects and the Foro AF-FC 2025 awards. The deadline to submit scientific communications is 10 August 2025, 23:59 (Peninsular Spain time).
The organisers offer reduced fees for students (with proof of enrolment) and various registration brackets for professionals; registration covers access to scientific sessions, documentation, coffee breaks, working lunches, an attendance diploma and the closing dinner.
After more than two decades, the National Pharmaceutical Care Congress remains a driving force towards a more clinical, patient-centred pharmacy. For more information visit www.congresoaf.com/AFC2025 or contact secretaria@pharmaceutical-care.org.
